Britton Makes Most Of U.S. Open Experience

Former Rebel Devin Britton made the most of his experience in his first ever Grand Slam match as a professional. Playing Roger Federer in the first round of the U.S. Open, Britton, the 2009 NCAA Champion, aced him three times in one game in the first set, and broke him twice, once in the second and third sets, respectively. Federer won the match 6-1, 6-3, 7-5, but Britton had a great time despite the loss. A couple hours after the match he tweeted this: "Best time I've ever had losing. Actually best time I've ever had period. Unreal experience. Had a blast. Still pumped even with a loss."

Coghlan Setting Records, Making Case for Rookie Of The Year

Former Rebel third baseman Chris Coghlan continues to set records for the Marlins and he's making his mark in the MLB record books as well. Coghlan recently set the Marlin's record for most hits in a month by a player (46 in August to date) and the last Rookie in the National Leage to hit 46 hits in a month was Wally Moon (St. Louis - 1954) when he hit 52.

Rebels Competing In USGA Championship

Current assistant women's golf coach Alexis Rather as well as former Rebel golfers Dori Carter and Rachel Ingram will be competing in the USGA Women's State Team Championship Sept. 1-3 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Rather is a member of the three-person team from Mississippi. Carter will be competing for her home state of Georgia, while Ingram is a member of the Tennessee team.

"Ole Miss is well represented this week at the National State Team Championship," head coach Michele Drinkard said. "It is quite an honor to be chosen by your home state to play, so to have three Rebels in the field is going to be a lot of fun. Of course the current team will take great interest in following our assistant coach as well as Dori and Rachel."

It's game week! Today we highlight former Ole Miss running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, dubbed Law Firm by his New England Patriot teammates (a great nickname by the way).

BJGE is one of only two runners in Ole Miss history (Kayo Dottley being the other) to rush for at least 1,000 yards in back-to-back years.
