Former Reb Parnell Changes Position

News out of New Orleans Saints camp today was former football/basketball Rebel Jermey Parnell has moved from defensive end to tight end, where the Saints have been hit by injury. The undrafted free agent signee also changed number from 79 to 89. Some of the NOLA message boards are excited and calling him the next Antonio Gates. This from the Saints' official site: At 6-foot-6, 278 pounds, Parnell remains a raw prospect after lettering in basketball for Ole Miss for four seasons and only playing football as a senior. But the coaching staff likes his athletic ability and size. “We want to take a look at him at tight end,” said Payton. “I told him last night we’re interested in him. He’s athletic, big and willing.”
