MLB Draft Starts Monday

As the Rebels' 2010 baseball season comes to a close, several of the players now turn their attention to Monday's first-year player draft, which kicks off at 6 p.m. CT on MLB.com and MLB Network. As we blogged back in May, Drew Pomeranz is high on every team's list, and here is what the Associated Press said in its capsules of the top players eligible.
DREW POMERANZ LHP, Ole Miss, 6-5, 230, junior. Southeastern Conference player of year is considered by many to be top lefty available in draft and could be top-5 pick. Rebels' career leader in strikeouts is 9-2 with 2.24 ERA and 139 Ks in 100 2-3 innings. Mixes 90-94 mph fastball with a knee-buckling curve, and changeup has become increasingly effective. Was inconsistent late in season, but still considered front-line starter-type talent.
