I once heard former Rebel Coach David Cutcliffe say he loves getting the media guide because he knows the season is almost here. Well we haven't gotten the publication back yet, but it is off to the presses. The image below is from the photo shoot for the cover. The No. 10 was chosen for the year 2010 rather than for the player wearing it, Jesse Grandy. However, as is noted in the book's depth chart, the explosive sophomore is penciled in as the starting flanker. Foreshadowing a big year? We'll see. The final copies of the guide usually arrive the third week of July, just in time for SEC Media Days. Ole Miss' session in Birmingham is scheduled for the morning of July 23. The number of players representing each school has expanded to three this year, and the Rebels in attendance will include Kentrell Lockett, Jerrell Powe and Bradley Sowell, along with of course Coach Houston Nutt.

I thought they'd retired #10 for Eli. If not, they should. I realize it's only for the year 2010, but it gives off the wrong impression. 10 is Eli Manning's number. Period.
