It's less than two weeks before NFL teams report for camp, and a ton of Rebels are hoping to get their pro career off on the right foot. As we've previously blogged, draftees Greg Hardy and Kendrick Lewis have already inked contracts, but Dexter McCluster and John Jerry have yet to sign on the dotted line. All four players have received high praise in the press, and the Times Picayune recently wrote about Lewis' golden opportunity.
For Ole Miss' seven undrafted free agents, a roster spot is not guaranteed. The Cardinals' Marshay Green is among those competing to make the final cut, and the team's official site recently blogged on his strong effort (photo below). Shay Hodge has bounced from the 49ers to the Redskins this summer, and unfortunately, Gerald Harris is now looking for another team after being waived by Tennessee. Best of luck to all of our recently departed Rebels!
