It's a great day in Mississippi. Governor Haley Barbour has declared today "Jim Weatherly Day" in the state in honor of the songwriter and our former star quarterback. As you probably read on the main site, Weatherly is being distinguished today in his hometown of Pontotoc to cap the final day of the annual Bodock Festival. AD Pete Boone and former SID Langston Rogers are among the Rebel contingency making the short drive for the ceremonies, which kick off at 4 p.m. If you're a North Mississippi resident, I recommend heading that way for a very worthy tribute to a true Rebel. Read more about the today's activities in the Daily Journal.
